Get Involved

Volunteer

Volunteers are the foundation of our organization. We could not exist without the hundreds of dedicated volunteers who contribute to trail development and management thoughout the province through member community-based trail groups and trail user groups.

NS Trails and our member groups are always looking for volunteers interested in making their community an even better place to live while having fun and making new friends in the process.

We welcome volunteers of all ages and encourage youth to get involved as a way to learn new skills or share the ones you already have. Simply complete the volunteer application form and email it to us with a note outlining where you live in Nova Scotia along with your skills and/or interests and we will put you in touch with a community trail group in your area.

If you would like to try your hand at trail building, you are welcome to attend a free workshop. No experience is required to take part. To be notified of upcoming trail building workshops, email This email address is being protected from spambots. Donate

The Nova Scotia Trails Federation is a provincially registered charity that supports the work of volunteer community-based trail group members throughout Nova Scotia. While use of these trails is free to all, trail development and ongoing maintenance is costly.

We encourage those who enjoy the benefits of recreational trails in the province to support the work of NS Trails and our member groups by making charitable donations to NS Trails online via Canada Helps by clicking the Donate Now button above.

You may designate your donation to assist a specific member community trail group by adding this request to the instruction box when filling out the form online. You may make a one-time donation or monthly contribution. We gratefully accept donations of any denomination. Our online partner Canada Helps will email your tax receipt upon completing the online donation process.

We truly appreciate your support!
