The NS Trails Metre Sales Program enables community trail groups maintain and construct recreational trails throughout the province.  All donations are invested in trail development.

The world class trails that we are building in Nova Scotia are a great resource for encouraging active living and realizing the benefits associated with healthy outdoors lifestyles.  Hundreds of Nova Scotians in all regions of the province are volunteering countless hours of their time to provide trail opportunities within their communities for residents and visitors alike. 

Your support will help our member organizations realize their recreational trail goals.

There are many reasons why you may wish to buy one or more metres of trail.  Here are some of them:

• For themselves and/or their family - what better way to make sure you will always have a place to take your morning walk or remember where and when a child or grandchild took some of her first steps.
• A gift for a special person in your life.  Metres have been purchased as birthday, anniversary, wedding, Christmas, and Valentines gifts to name some of the more common occasions.  
• To say "thank you".  Present a Metre to a guest speaker, member of your bridal party  or a trails enthusiast.
• In memory of a family member or friend.
• International Trails Day. A Metre may be bought as part of the celebrations.
• To show support from a company, school or other organization.
• Just because it feel right. They want simply to support their favorite hiking trail.

Whatever the reason, buying a metre of trail is a great way to support trails your favourite trail.

With your donation to purchase a metre you will receive a personalized certificate of appreciation and a tax receipt. It may be possible to customize the certificate - please ask.  You have the option to designate your donation to a particular NS Trails community trail group. That group will acknowledge your donation.

NS Trails accepts donations in any amount and is able to issue a tax receipt to the donor.  As with the purchase of a metre of trail, your donation may be designated to a particular NS Trail community trail group.  NS Trails can also accept donations (and discounts) in kind.  Machine time, labour, professional services and materials are examples of how the business community can lend a hand to recreational trail development.  Contact the NS Trails office for further information.

Note to member groups:

Groups that would like to participate in the Metre Sales Program are required to be in good standing with NS Trails and must sign the Metre Sales Program Letter of Agreement. The Letter of Agreement is to be completed and signed by authorized officers of the community trail group as a condition of their participation in the Metre Sales Program.
