Trans Canada Trail

The Trans Canada Trail (TCT) was initiated in 1992 as a project to celebrate Canada's 125th year. The TCT is the world's largest network of multi-use recreational trails.  When completed, the trail will stretch 23,000 kilometres from the Atlantic to the Pacific and Arctic Oceans.  It will connect every province and territory in Canada, linking over 1000 communities and all Canadians.

Nova Scotia Trails (NS Trails) is proud to be the Nova Scotia Partner for the Trans Canada Trail.  We are committed to connecting the trail in Nova Scotia by 2017.  This will coincide with Canada's 150th birthday and the 25th anniversary of the inception of this legacy project. The Nova Scotia portion of the trail will span 700 km from North Sydney to Amherst with a link to the provincial capital, Halifax Regional Municipality.

To find out how you can volunteer in your community or make a financial contribution to the trail in Nova Scotia call NS Trails at 1-(902) 425-5450 Ext. 325 or email: vanda@novascotiatrails.com.  It's Your Trail, Your Journey.
